UNlimited Institute (UNi) is a social business established in April 2014. We design experiential learning programs for university students in Hong Kong and Southeast Asian countries. Our programs include elements of international cultural experience and community engagement. With our visions "Learning without Borders, Travel beyond Limits", we create unique cultural exposure and understanding, and also theme-based problem-solving training for students.
Our featured program is the formal credit-bearing program entitled the Capstone Program, in which we have partnered with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and College of International Education of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU CIE), offering overseas study program for Food and Nutritional Science students from HKU and HKBU CIE. Our participants from HKU are also exclusively subsidized by the Gallant Ho Experiential Learning Centre (GHELC) of HKU.
This professional program is divided into three phases:
Phase 1 - Pre-trip training: we cooperate with Inter Cultural Education (ICE) and the Crossroads Foundation for cultural mindset training, associated with professional lectures and demonstrations from the universities.
Phase 2 - Overseas excursion: we cooperate with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO) and World Food Program (WFP) for professional seminars on the research projects in rural Cambodia. During the excursion, the participants can visit local NGOs, social enterprises, and historical heritages and conduct village-based research.
Phase 3 - Post-trip reports: participants submit reports and give a presentation for university credits.
For public programs, we also offer cultural exchange trips in Southeast Asian countries including Cambodia and Mongolia.
